Flasa SA in Alle (JU)

The successful worsted spinning company Flasa SA is based in Alle (JU). Oil prices were low when the industrial sheds of Flasa SA were built and energy efficiency was not yet in common parlance. The 13'000 m² roof surfaces were not insulated and heat escaped practically unhindered. No wonder that a freight train load of heating oil was used every week!

In 2013 the roof surface was renovated and 6'000 m² of photovoltaics were fitted for energy production. All installation work was carried out via the shed roof. Within two months, 27 train-loads or 200 t isofloc were brought in this way. The renovation has proved worthwhile. Nowadays heating oil is delivered only once every 2 to 3 weeks.
