Schnegg Tools Ipsach (Biel)

Schnegg Tools AG negotiates and advises in the areas of tools for machining centres, clamping devices, cutting tools, tool holders and measurement devices. Its new office- and warehouse building provided space for the expanding business divisions and an optimally functional working environment. The building substantially meets the specifications of the Minergie standard. A metal construction and a timber system structure were evaluated and compared in the pre-project phase. With around the same overall costs the timber construction system achieved a substantially better energy balance and more efficiently fulfils the conditions for subsequent expansion. The architectural implementation in the interior has created an excellent interior climate. Delivery and customer reception areas are clearly separated by the positioning of the building on the gently sloping site.
