Weekend house in Wallis
The historic timber houses in the villages of Goms, the eastern district in canton Wallis, were built in rows close together over a hundred years ago. In addition to dwellings they are mainly agricultural utility buildings in the traditional style, a log building method using squared timbers and marking the image of the locality with their nearly black façades. In the conversion of the former barn into a weekend house this made it all the more important to keep the original external appearance as far as possible.
